Programs Committee

The Los Angeles District Council coordinates monthly programs addressing land use, development and financing issues facing our region. Program topics are chosen by a committee made up of ULI members who identify topics and speakers for programs and special events throughout the year.
This year, program topics will include: capital markets, transportation and infrastructure, AB 32/SB 375, residential development, non-residential development, green development, climate change, mixed-use development, live/work development, transit oriented development, infill development, regional cooperation, workouts, restructurings, and troubled asset relief.

Annual Programs
ULI will host four signature programs in 2009:
- Urban Marketplace - March 18: ULI LA's signature event
- Legends of ULI - April 16: An event honoring ULI LA's valued members and sponsors
- Infrastructure Conference - May 1
- Emerging Trends - November 20
Semi - Annual Programs
ULI LA will host three semi-annual programs:
- Green Conference
- TOD Marketplace
- Awards and Holiday Party
Meet & Greets
Meet & Greet Receptions are held quarterly. This year ULI LA will host: Lynn Jacobs, California Housing Director, the City of Los Angeles Planning Deputies, Cynthia Bryant, Director of the Office of Planning and Research for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Dale Bonner, California Secretary of Business, Transportation, and Housing.
Monthly Breakfast Meetings
Every second Thursday of each month beginning in March, ULI LA will host breakfast meetings on current issues affecting the land use and development field today.
Monthly Brown Bag Educational Lunches
An Educational Lunch Series held the Last Thursdays of each month.
Site Tours
ULI LA holds site tours throughout the year. Forty guests toured the landmark project LA Live Convention Center Hotel in January 2009. Upcoming tours will include Evo in Downtown's South Park and Element Lofts in the Marina Arts District.
Young Leaders
ULI LA's Young Leaders Group organizes numerous events and programs geared towards professionals 35 years and younger. These programs focus on nurturing up and coming leaders in the development profession.
